What is Numbers Protocol?
Numbers is the new decentralised asset network Everything we see, hear, think and do is manipulated, edited, cropped and censored. We believe in change. Built from the ground up, by decentralised communities. With the freedom to debate, narrate and analyse. Where your future is user owned and created by you, our community. Numbers Protocol Provenance is key to the success of monetization of digital media because it helps to establish trust and credibility in the online space, without which it can be difficult to determine the reliability of the information or the value of digital assets. In a decentralized, user-owned and controlled internet, individuals and organizations need to be able to verify the authenticity of the information and assets they encounter. Numbers Protocol secures digital media provenance through a decentralized ecosystem and blockchain technology, akin to a version control system like Git. Numbers tracks changes made to digital assets, allowing for collaboration and management. The Numbers Mainnet functions as a decentralized Github, storing data related to assets, such as provenance, ownership, and historical records, securely and transparently. We developed the world's first blockchain camera app, developer API, and management dashboard for users to create and manage digital assets. We also offer services to detect unauthorized asset usage and verify AI dataset authenticity. Our long-term vision is to establish a transparent, fair, and authentic digital media ecosystem that promotes accountability and ensures the safe and secure use of data and AI.

Assetization
Assetization process creates a unique identifier called the "Numbers ID (Nid)", that is cryptographically generated and serves to distinguish the vast ecosystem of digital assets within the network. Assetized content in the network have associated "Commit" records that capture context, ownership, and creator signature. These commits linked to Nid to allow tracking changes made to the assets over time. Each commit is also linked to an "AssetTree" file which describes the property of the asset including creator, creation time, license, etc.

Numbers ID (Nid)
The Numbers ID (Nid) is a unique identifier to identify each content file within the Numbers Protocol network. The Nid is a 59-character string that is cryptographically generated and serves to distinguish the vast ecosystem of digital assets within the network. The use of Nid ensures that all content files within the network can be easily identified, tracked and verified.

Commit
Similar to commits in Git system, every asset in the network has its own "Commit" history recorded on the blockchain. This allows for the tracking of the asset's journey from its creation to the present time, making it easy for anyone to verify the authenticity and integrity of the asset. This makes easy for developers that are familiar with Git to understand the concept of AssetTree and Commit in the Numbers protocol system.

AssetTree
One important aspect of Assetization is the creation of an "AssetTree" file for each asset. An AssetTree, similar to the tree file in Git system, is a collection of metadata that describes the properties of the asset. It contains information such as the creator's wallet address, the creation time, license, and any other important metadata. The AssetTree file also includes the Nid and an integrity CID, which are used to verify the authenticity and integrity of the asset.

FAQ
NFTs (non-fungible tokens) have gained a lot of attention in recent years as a way to represent ownership of digital assets, but they have some limitations. One of the main limitations is that NFTs are not directly linked to the actual digital media files they represent. Instead, they are simply random characters that represent a token of ownership but don't provide any context or information about the asset itself.
This is where Numbers Protocol comes in. Unlike NFTs, Numbers Protocol uses a unique identifier called the Numbers ID (Nid) which is directly linked to the digital media file it represents. The Nid acts as an address for the asset in the decentralized web, allowing for easy access to important information and context about the asset.
Numbers Protocol offers a revolutionary solution for the creative industry, by keeping a complete and immutable record of the Chain of Creativity on the blockchain. This record includes not only the final product, but also the process of generating and sharing creative ideas, innovations, and artistic expressions. By creating the Chain of Creativity, links can be established between individuals, groups, or organizations that contribute to and build upon each other's creative work, ensuring a transparent and verifiable history of the creative process.
Another advantage of Numbers Protocol is that Nid can be shared across blockchain networks. This asset-centric architecture makes Numbers Protocol a powerful solution for real-world problems such as misinformation in news media, royalty distribution in the music industry, user-generated content (UGC) in the online space, and more.
In summary, Numbers Protocol takes the concept of NFTs and takes it to the next level. By providing a direct link between the digital media file and its representation in the form of Nid, and by allowing for the creation and storage of integrity records and context, Numbers Protocol is able to solve problems that NFTs alone cannot.
Numbers creates an open spec to store metadata of digital media on blockchain
Pros: immutable, flexible to all data files
Cons: it takes gas fee for decentralized registration
C2PA creates an open spec to store metadata of digital media in the digital media
Pros: no gas, as long as you get the right C2PA image, you get all history
Hard to share (information can miss easily)

Digital media provenance is a BIG and LONG problem that many people tried to solve it, Adobe addresses it in their way (through the modification of the file itself), and Numbers addresses it in the Web3 way (creating an open and decentralized network).
In the future, all may survive and support each other in order to create the best provenance of digital media on the internet.
We work with C2PA (part of the campaign) instead of competing with it.
Nid complies with IPFS Kubo CIDv1, a prevalent content address format employed for identifying files and objects within the IPFS network. CID can be challenging due to the numerous formats, which can cause confusion. As a result, we have selected the most common CID for use in our system. To provide clarity for users, we refer to it as Nid, as CID can be ambiguous.
Defining Nid is crucial, as it creates a bridge connecting on-chain history and web3 storage. Without an appropriate definition, users might generate the hash incorrectly, leading to difficulties in locating the required history.
Numbers Protocol is a blockchain-based platform that aims to revolutionize traditional financial markets by tokenizing real-world assets. It enables users to create and trade digital assets backed by real-world assets, such as stocks, commodities, and real estate, through the use of blockchain technology.
Numbers Protocol utilizes a combination of blockchain technology, smart contracts, and decentralized storage to ensure the authenticity and security of tokenized assets. By leveraging the transparency and immutability of the blockchain, the platform creates a trustworthy environment where asset ownership and transactions can be verified and audited.
