YOUR FAVORITE DEGEN HEROES

SCHEMING VILLAINS YOU LOVE TO HATE

THE COMICS
Before they came together to wow non-fungible-fans, the PUNKS were leading their own individual lives until they were called to the only place to be in web3: Origin City!

COURTNEY
Courtney is the heart of the Pixel Vault crew, a cool customer with a finger firmly on the pulse of culture. She left her family behind to.

GFUNK
The brains behind Pixel Vault and the glue that keeps it together, GFunk set out to amass the greatest collection of digital art.

FRANK
Frank is a career criminal adept at strong-arming his way through life and made his bones as a stick-up kid and cash-register.

ELVIRA
Once a brilliant DeFi trader living high above Origin City in a fancy penthouse, Elvira was forced to descend from the mountaintop.

THE FUTURIST
The Futurist is the world’s leading authority on crypto art. He joined the Pixel Vault crew to make history, which is just about the only.

EXPLORE THE ORIGIN STORIES
Follow along with Origin Stories as we explore the backgrounds of Courtney, GFunk, and the stars of PUNKS (and their peers), peeling back the layers of who they are, uncovering the alpha that got them to the top, and learning what brought them all together. Who knows, maybe we’ll even learn that Wiggles has a secret or two in his past?

FAQ
Meet the PUNKS! Our favorite misfit crew of collectors, rebels, and crypto degens. Born out of the desire to bring NFTs to life, PUNKS Comic gives names, bodies, backstories, and a colorful narrative to some of the metaverse’s most beloved NFT collections.
The original 16 CryptoPunks represented in PUNKS Comic Issue #1 have been fractionalized through a fractional.art vault into 100 million ERC-20 tokens (https://fractional.art/vaults/punks). 25% of the tokens are owned by Pixel Vault, 25% are owned by the Founder’s DAO (PVFD), and the remaining 50% can be obtained through the staking of your PUNKS Comic Issue #1 NFT. Each $PUNKS token represents fractional ownership of the 16 CryptoPunks. Staking is available for 24 months, and began on December 5th, 2021. The number of $PUNKS tokens you can earn per Comic NFT staked depends on the total time staked. The Comic #1/$PUNKS staking pool has a fixed distribution currently set to approximately 180 PUNKS per week per NFT staked. This rate may be adjusted to distribute all rewards in the pool’s designated time period.
Staking your PUNKS Comic Issue #1 NFT does not affect your ability to claim a physical copy, or its consideration for Pixel Vault giveaways, when applicable. By beginning the staking process, you are locking your Comic #1 NFT in the staking contract for 30 days, after which you may choose to unstake. While staking, your Comic #1 NFT will not be available for trading. Once you unstake, your exact NFT will be returned to your wallet (same Token ID), at which point you may trade in secondary markets as usual if you wish to do so
Unstaking of your Comic #1 NFT and/or claiming of your $PUNKS token rewards are subject to a 30-day cooldown period, which is automatically activated when the NFT is deposited. Once the 30 days elapse, you will be able to unstake your NFT and/or claim your rewards. When you unstake your Comic #1, any unclaimed $PUNKS token rewards you have accrued will be automatically sent to your wallet. You may stake/unstake Comic #1 NFTs multiple times, in one transaction, or in multiple transactions. Please keep in mind that unstaking and re-staking reactivates the cooldown period.
You will not be able to transfer or sell your Comic #1 NFT while it is staked. Your Comic #1 NFT will also be locked in the staking contract for 30 days before you are able to unstake. Crypto and NFT prices can be volatile. Please take the time to make an informed decision. No guarantees are made about the security of the staking contract and Pixel Vault is not liable for any losses due to exploit or otherwise. Our smart contracts have been audited by Hacken Cybersecurity Services:
Holders of the PUNKS Comic Issue #1 NFT were presented with the choice to either burn their comic and receive a membership to the Pixel Vault Founder's DAO (PVFD) or hold their comic and participate in the mechanics outlined above. If one chose to burn their comic they received membership to the Founder's DAO in the form of a FVCKRENDER-designed ERC-721 NFT. In total, 5,902 Founder's DAO tokens were minted.
A DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is a group of people, or entities, that act upon proposals by voting transparently on the blockchain. These proposals and the voting that follows, abide by rules outlined in a clearly defined constitution. Legally, a DAO is its own entity with its own rights and privileges outlined by the region it was formed in.
The Founder's DAO (PVFD) is a collective of members represented by Founder's DAO tokens, who hold ownership of a vault of crypto assets. The Founder's DAO, fully governed by its members, has the flexibility to sell individual DAO items, fractionalize the Founder's DAO, accept a buyout, or even potentially raise funds to acquire new assets. In theory, the PVFD can vote to do anything it wishes with these assets (or raised assets) as long as it is:
- Voted upon by the PVFD
- Conforms to the PVFD's constitution
The genesis issue of PUNKS Comic, “The Hunt for the Lost Robbies”, is loosely based on the famed early crypto art given out in gift bags at the inaugural Christie’s Tech Summit in London in 2018. 300+ gift cards with instructions on how to claim the 1/1 NFT artworks by Robbie Barrat were distributed during the event, but only about two dozen have ever been claimed. As such, these works have become a significant part of NFT art history. Following this history, our story follows the PUNKS (devout believers in crypto art’s future) in their quest for these enigmatic relics of crypto art history – the “Lost Robbies”. PUNKS endure kidnappings, clowns, anons, and the mysterious Elvis Punksley, in what turns out to be a very wild ride. PUNKS Comic Issue #1 was brought to life by Chris Wahl, an award-winning illustrator with over 25 years of experience. Once upon a time, there were 10,000 first edition Issues of the PUNKS Comic NFT. At that time, the only game theory was to decide whether you were going to burn (destroy) your comic NFT for a Pixel Vault Founder’s DAO (PVFD) NFT, or keep it and claim a physical copy while staking for $PUNKS tokens. Ultimately, 5,902 comics were burned in July 2021, leaving behind 4,098 issues. However, this would not be the final supply count of Comic #1 as an additional burn mechanism was introduced for comic holders. On October 15th, 2021 holders had an opportunity to burn their comic and in exchange, receive a Moon DAO Token. This led to another 727 comics being officially burnt and another 58 comics being stolen and burnt. A total of 3,313 original Issue #1 NFTs and 58 Special Edition #1 NFTs remain. The PUNKS Comic Issue #1 Special Edition NFTs grant their holders PixelPass benefits: one free mint of every Pixel Vault project drop for as long as the NFT is held (the only other NFT in the Pixel Vault ecosystem granting these perks is the MetaHero Core Identity).
